DALLAS, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Information Technology Professionals - Dallas Chapter (AITP Dallas) announced today that Valtech Technologies, an Agile software development and educational services company based in Addison, TX, has partnered with them again for this year's educational program, "The IT Apprentice". AITP Dallas will present its second IT version of the TV hit, The Apprentice with Donald Trump, on November 29, 2006 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Addison, TX, where a real job will be given to the winning candidate. Valtech North America has donated a Java developer position worth an annual salary of $85,000 to $100,000 plus benefits. The candidate hearing the words, "You're Hired" will join the Valtech team of more than 1,200 people worldwide.

"After the successful program last year, we committed to AITP Dallas that we would sponsor a job again should they wish to make this an annual program," said Melissa Meeker, Vice President of Marketing for Valtech, "and, based on the great success we had with our first IT Apprentice, we are looking forward to this year's event."

In partnership with AITP Dallas and Valtech Technologies, Midwest Consulting Group, Inc., a technical staffing firm, will be handling the screening of applicants to find the qualified candidates. The three candidates who will be competing for the job will be selected by a panel of IT executives from three prominent Dallas/Ft. Worth businesses: Ted Layne, VP-Technical Services of Michaels Stores, Inc., Ann McCool, an independent IT Consultant and former Sr. Director, Sales Channels Systems of RadioShack, and Reena Batra, CEO of Software Professionals, Inc. During the 90 minute program, the executives will test candidates on their ability to use best business practices and professional skills on completing a project, and narrow them down until they find...The IT Apprentice.

Instructions for applying as a candidate are located at http:/aitp.org/region3/ITApprentice.pdf and you do not have to be a member of AITP to apply. Applications must be submitted by the November 24th deadline.

The program is open to the public and the audience will participate in the excitement throughout the evening. Contact AITP Dallas at aitpdallas@comcast.net or call 972-682-0501 for more information.
