Deep Agile 2009 Seminar Sharing Wealth with Hardship Discount

Due to the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers, 'Deep Agile 2009: Agile for Embedded Systems' - a 2 day seminar organized by Boston's Agile Bazaar - is offering reduced cost hardship option to help our fellow engineers in this terrible economy.  This is the first ever multi-day seminar to focus solely on Agile methods for the development of embedded systems. Embedded software revenues worldwide have been growing at a 16% average annual rate for the past 5 years [1], yet Agile methodologies have made few inroads there. Notable exceptions exist, such as Key Technology Inc. where agile practices have been delivering bug-free embedded software for over ten years. Russel Hill, a senior software engineer at Key, will present case studies from his work. Jack Ganssle, a highly respected embedded industry consultant, and James Grenning, an agile coach specializing in embedded systems, will also be speaking throughout the two days.

The volunteer agile team producing the event is giving more visibility to the hardship discount they offer because "As a non-profit group we have a choice that isn't open to a for-profit event. We can choose to help out our colleagues who've lost their jobs, rather than focus only on more revenue." according to Nancy Van Schooenderwoert, the team lead.

The event, scheduled for April 25-26, will take place in Cambridge, MA It is the fourth in a series of successful Deep Agile and Deep Lean seminars conducted by Agile Bazaar. Further details are available at http://www.agilebazaar.org/

Agile Bazaar is Greater Boston's premier non-profit professional group fostering an understanding of Agile techniques for software development and project management, and of the lean principles that underlie these ideas. Agile Bazaar is an affiliate of the Agile Alliance and is also a chapter of the ACM.
