| WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(April 23, 2009) - MKS Inc., (TSX:MKX) the global Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) technology leader, announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the Gartner, Inc. "Magic Quadrant for Software Change and Configuration Management for Distributed Platforms" report(1). "Gartner estimates that SCCM tool revenue grew an average of 10% to 13% annually during the past several years. New-product license and maintenance revenue for SCCM was approximately $810 million in 2007, a 10% growth over adjusted numbers for 2006...this sector will have a compound annual growth rate through 2013 of 10%. However, this growth will be focused on products that incorporate ALM capabilities." In Gartner's view, "SCCM tools are evolving on a path toward integrating tightly with or becoming generalized management platforms for requirements, test plans and other aspects of the application life cycle. Some products already have added multiplatform support and management support for noncode artifacts (including requirements, content, documentation, test case management, and code packaging and distribution)." MKS IntegrityTM offers process-driven software change and configuration management capabilities as part of a single enterprise application lifecycle management platform. Delivering traceability and visibility across the entire lifecycle, MKS Integrity coordinates and manages all activities and artifacts associated with software development, reliably supporting large numbers of users on a wide variety of platforms, across geographically distributed sites, and providing support for popular development best practices such as parallel development and software reuse. "MKS has established itself as a thought leader within the application lifecycle management market by creating the first ALM platform that includes software configuration management capabilities within a single data model," said Philip Deck, CEO, MKS Inc. "The seamless capabilities within MKS Integrity for configuration, collaboration and change management allow us to deliver higher productivity within IT and engineering organizations and has been the foundation of our success, exemplifying the trend that will deliver the industry's most robust growth."
