Today, at the National Retail Federation's Big Show, i2 announced that it is further developing its proven and successful i2 New-Generation Customer Order Management solution to address the unique needs of retailers. The solution, i2 Customer Order Management for Retail, is being designed to deliver the tools retailers need to better manage the multi-channel experience for retailers and provide a superior customer shopping experience. Developed with strong workflow management capabilities, the solution will be packaged to help retail companies better orchestrate the order lifecycle - including configuration, quoting, delivery and payment - across multiple channels. The solution is being built to offer retailers a single order repository integrating the order fulfillment process across multiple channels and to enable inventory visibility and overall supply chain activity. As a result retailers could track product in the store, warehouse, in-transit or at the supplier, enabling a more accurate available-to-promise estimate for increased customer satisfaction.

  • ability to track order status regardless of what channel used to place the order and where the product is in the supply chain;
  • the ability to support the complex the multi-channel selling model; and
  • the ability to leverage existing systems and solutions investments.
Additionally, the solution is being developed for retailers to be able to off-load complex processes to the solution and more rapidly realize the promised financial benefits of ERP rationalization and standardization.
