| Digite, Inc., a leading Agile ALM vendor, based in Mountain View, CA, introduced its out-of-the-box integration with Eclipse IDE in version Ver. 5.3 of its flagship product Digité Enterprise. The Eclipse Adapter is aimed at enhancing the productivity of developer communities of Digité’s customers by providing them the flexibility to manage all work assigned to them right within Eclipse IDE. With this capability, Digité further enhances its end-to-end integrated Agile Application Lifecycle Management capability from Requirements all the way through Code, including end-to-end traceability. Digité Enterprise is a grounds-up fully-integrated web-based Application Lifecycle Management suite of products for distributed technology teams and enterprises. It offers a collaborative set of tools from Requirements Management to Change Management, Test Management, Defects Tracking and Configuration Management, supported by Project Portfolio Management and Process Governance features that provide software and IT teams end-to-end visibility, traceability and project execution capability. Focus on Developer Experience and Productivity Announcing the release, Mahesh Singh, VP – Product at Digité, Inc. said, “As a new-generation ALM vendor, Digité has long provided an integrated set of products for managing all development artifacts through a single interface – from user requirements to design to code to test cases and scripts, defects and change requests. With the introduction of the Eclipse adapter, developers will no longer need to switch between their IDE and Digité, to access task/ requirement/ defect details from Digité and work within Eclipse to work on those items in terms of coding and unit testing and later switch back to Digité to log their effort and progress against the work-items.” The Digite – Eclipse adapter provides a seamless interface to Digité artifacts directly from Eclipse’s Mylyn interface. It allows developers to view/ modify all their Digité work-items such as requirements/ tasks/ defects or user stories (in the case of agile projects), access document attachments and review/ post comments linked to the work-items and finally report progress against those in the Digité Timesheet, without leaving their Eclipse IDE window. In essence, developers can do almost all of their work within the Eclipse interface and don’t need to switch between the two applications, saving a lot of time and enhancing their productivity substantially. Singh says, “Overall, the tightly coupled integration between Digité, Eclipse and Subversion lets the development team: • Define and manage requirements, tasks, defects and other work-items in Digité • Access these work items within Eclipse IDE using the Digité-Eclipse Adapter; and • Commit the new/ modified code in to the code repository using the Digité-Subversion adapter. This allows maintaining an end-to-end traceability in Digité between all the key artifacts of the application development lifecycle and giving a unified view of the application development status.” Besides Subversion, Digité also supports CVS and VSS. The Eclipse adapter is offered as an add-on to Digité Enterprise standard solutions and is priced separately.
