Persystent Enterprise Further Improves IT Process Maturity

TAMPA, Fla., March 5 - Persystent Technologies, the leader in automated desktop availability and compliance solutions, today announced the release of version 4.2 of its acclaimed Persystent Enterprise software solution. Persystent automatically repairs the operating environment for Windows-based PCs and laptops - all based on policy and without human intervention.

Persystent Enterprise helps organizations move towards more mature and proactive IT processes. By dramatically reducing PC downtime and performance degradation, Persystent reduces the need for reactive "firefighting" measures which siphon resources from strategic initiatives. When companies can count on more stability at the end-user device, IT can focus resources and budget on infrastructure improvement and operational efficiency.

The new release further improves policy enforcement and system performance for PCs and laptops on and off the corporate network, complementing traditional PC life cycle and configuration management tools. Increasingly, end users are working outside the office where network connectivity may or may not be available. Recent data from WorldatWork's TeleworkTrendlines report states that the U.S. workforce is becoming mobilized at a staggering rate: 12.4 million employees worked remotely at least once a month in 2006, up from 7.6 million in 2004. Persystent Enterprise now offers even deeper functionality to address this trend.

The value of zero-touch legacy machine migration

Existing desktops and laptops can be migrated to Persystent without requiring a visit to the device. Instead, migration is scheduled and managed entirely from a centralized administrative console, allowing remote deployment of Persystent to end-user devices anywhere in the world. As a result, administrators can enable any PC or laptop on the network with automated repair capability, ensuring a stable and compliant device every day.

"As more people work outside the office, IT faces new challenges in maintaining availability," said Ray Weadock, president and CEO of Persystent Technologies. "The key to meeting changing user needs is to automatically maintain devices wherever they are used so routine problems never turn into service calls or outages. Persystent ensures uptime and performance for all end users, whether they're at headquarters, in a home office or on the road."
