Top Analyst Believes Gomez Acquisition Is a Coup for Compuware With Capability Unmatched by Any of its Rivals

DETROIT--December 9, 2009--Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced that Ovum, a leading analyst firm, cites Compuware’s acquisition of Gomez as expanding and redefining application performance management <http://www.compuware.com/solutions/application_performance_management.asp>. In the Ovum report titled: “Compuware’s Gomez Acquisition Expands Definition of Application Performance Management,” <http://bit.ly/5tJa9S>  Ovum Senior Analyst, Tony Baer wrote: “Compuware is not only expanding the reach of its application management business; it is redefining it to address what until now has been the missing piece: the Internet itself.”

“The [Gomez] deal is a coup for Compuware as it now has a capability not matched by any of its rivals, and the timing is auspicious given growing enterprise interest in use of the cloud, especially for SaaS-based applications,” wrote Baer.

“Ovum’s analysis is dead-on accurate and attests to our strength and leadership in the application performance management market,” said Bob Paul, Compuware President and Chief Operating Officer. “By joining forces with Gomez, Compuware is the only company in the market that can deliver IT and business executives a groundbreaking solution for optimizing the performance of business applications to drive revenue, protect brand equity and increase customer satisfaction.”
