BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Rally Software Development Corp.,
the leading on-demand provider of Agile software life cycle management
solutions, today announced the availability of Rally Agile Team and Rally
Agile Pro, two distinct editions that give software development teams the
visibility and collaboration needed to deliver high-value software in short,
rapid iterations.  The new offerings continue the advancement of Rally's
on-demand applications for helping software-driven organizations formalize,
manage and scale Agile development practices -- one of the fastest growing
trends in the software industry.

"The launch of Rally Agile Team and Agile Pro editions are in response to
the continued momentum and adoption of Agile development practices we see
firsthand with our growing customer base of more than 2,000 subscribers," said
Tim Miller, CEO of Rally.  "All Agile teams try to deliver customer value
incrementally in small batches rather than in big-bang waterfall releases.  A
small team of 10 or less that is piloting Agile often has simpler
communication and coordination requirements than a larger or more experienced
Agile organization. Rally's new editions make it easy for companies of all
sizes to get started with Agile and will grow with them as their needs
change."

Rally Agile Team enables a single team of 10 developers and testers to
communicate and manage their iterations more effectively by giving them basic
project management, test management and defect tracking features without
complexity.  It offers a specific set of project management features designed
to assist smaller teams, or initial teams within a larger organization, gain
the experience, visibility and confidence needed to succeed and eventually
scale Agile development methodologies.

Rally Agile Pro supports all roles and activities in the software life
cycle with added capabilities for release planning and tracking, requirements
management, resource planning and program management.  In addition, Rally
Agile Pro is fully customizable, and uses Web services that integrate Rally
with the company's preferred development, test and build environments to
provide seamless collaboration and visibility across projects and teams.

Rally continues to add new functionality to its core technology platform
on a regular basis.  New enhancements to both Rally Agile Pro and Rally Agile
Team include:

    * New User Story requirement type - this lightweight requirement can stand
alone or be a dependent to features or use cases

    * The ability to add custom fields to requirements, test cases and defects
with enhanced custom views and filters that control information layout,
      grouping and ordering

    * New inline editing capabilities using Ajax technology is now available
on requirements, test cases, defects and scheduling cards

New features that support integration for Rally Agile Pro only are:

    * Enhanced Web Services API for both SOAP & REST (Beta) integrates Rally
with IDEs, automated test, build and SCM systems by allowing for the
search, create, read, update and delete of Rally objects from these
      applications

"If you are moving your organization toward Agile development, Rally is a
great place to start.  Their blend of tools, support, training, reference
materials and consulting services provide everything you need for your
organization to be successful," said Skip Angel, vice president of
development/CTO for Integrated Systems, Inc.  "The launch of Rally Agile Team
and Agile Pro illustrate how responsive Rally is to our needs and how in-touch
they are to the realities of making Agile development a success for customers
of all types and sizes."
