One Touch I.D. Enables Developers to Perform High-Speed, High-Accuracy Identification and to Create Large-Scale Identification Data Sets July 10, 2007 REDWOOD CITY, CA — DigitalPersona, Inc., the leading provider of biometric authentication solutions for enterprise networks and commercial applications, today announced the DigitalPersona® One Touch® I.D. SDK, its new software development kit (SDK) which enables developers to create fingerprint biometric solutions with superior identification capability. The new One Touch I.D. SDK extends the functionality of the DigitalPersona Gold, Gold CE and Platinum SDKs by giving developers the ability to identify people on a large scale by connecting the fingerprint to a user’s authentication and personal information.
One Touch I.D allows developers to provide a more convenient method of fingerprint authentication by enabling applications with large data sets of fingerprint templates to perform high-speed searches on the collection of enrolled fingerprint templates. Users only have to touch a fingerprint reader to authenticate themselves, eliminating the use of an identifier such as IDs or PINS to start the authentication process. "We have been anxiously anticipating the release of large-scale identification capability from DigitalPersona to its developer community," said Dan Filo, President and CEO of Landmark Group Holdings, Inc. "Biometrics is growing rapidly and DigitalPersona's new identification software development kit will enable us to create identification solutions for many customers in various markets." One Touch I.D.’s proprietary identification algorithm enables developers to implement the fastest and most accurate identification in commercially available fingerprint software development kits. In fact, the algorithm can select a user’s identity with a fingerprint out of a data set of 1,000 in less than two-tenths of a second. “Developers who create applications using DigitalPersona’s Gold and Platinum SDKs can now improve their offerings with the addition of large-scale identification capabilities,” said Chip Mesec, senior product marketing manager for DigitalPersona. “The One Touch I.D. SDK continues in the tradition of DigitalPersona SDK products by providing secure, accurate and customer-proven fingerprint biometric tools for developers to incorporate into mission-critical applications.” The One Touch I.D. SDK is targeted at existing or new DigitalPersona developer customers that want to build identification systems using fingerprint biometrics for large groups of users. Typical applications for identification involve time and attendance, physical access, retail, point-of-sale, workplace or member identification systems, school access and meal programs, entitlement, rewards and fast-pass systems. Additional features include: - Two-Finger Identification – Uses two fingers to perform identification, improving identification accuracy and resulting in a higher level of security - Fingerprint Database Clean-Up – Enables developers to eliminate redundant fingerprint templates and eliminate fraudulent users within data sets - Template Expiration – Enables developers to build annuity renewals into their systems providing identification templates limited to one-year or three-years duration - Scalable Identification – Data sets can be searched simultaneously to enlarge the total data set for identification Pricing and Availability The DigitalPersona One Touch I.D. SDK is priced at $499 with additional fingerprint template identification licenses starting at $0.50. The One Touch I.D. SDK package includes the identification development software and run time environment, two licensing tokens, and 1,000 evaluation fingerprint identification licenses. The product is available on July 10, 2007 from DigitalPersona and its resellers worldwide. DigitalPersona is the leader in biometric deployments and large-scale fingerprint authentication solutions amongst developers because its solutions have been proven to be highly reliable and accurate.
