Tideway tackles the 50-80% of downtime caused by change

NEW YORK, NY —July 18, 2007—Tideway Systems, the independent leader in Application Dependency Mapping for enterprises, announced the release of Tideway Foundation 6.3—an updated version of the company’s flagship Application Dependency Mapping product.   Tideway Foundation 6.3 automates application change control by making it even easier for businesses to evaluate the impact, risk and cost of change across multiple IT components, and then track and validate those changes.

Tideway Foundation 6.3 gives users better control of the changes they make in their IT environments, including the ability to track and verify.  The solution helps businesses plan changes more effectively to minimize change-related incidents.  As part of Tideway’s mission to make IT management As Simple As Search, 6.3 includes the following key updates:

§  Powerful comparison tools for analyzing configuration items and their dependencies

o   To understand changes or find root cause of incidents and problems

o   To ensure live and disaster recovery environment compatibility

o   To minimize go live failure by comparing development, testing and production stages

§  Enterprise-grade authentication and authorization service

o   Supports LDAP and certificate based authentication, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of the data it manages

Foundation 6.3 comes pre-populated with over 3000 fingerprints, which are updated as often as every two months through Tideway’s unique fingerprint update service.  This service ensures that Tideway's customers benefit from automatic indexing, recognition, and mapping of new data center technologies and applications as they are released to market, providing the most complete map of their IT infrastructure configuration possible.

Foundation 6.3 is available in three different editions for making IT management As Simple As Search that address the level of transparency required: Business, Operations and Platform.

·         Platform Edition – for getting started with application dependency mapping by indexing the hardware, operating systems and agents in the data center

·         Operations Edition – in addition, mapping software, network hardware, and virtual hosts, including their interdependencies

·         Business Edition -- Providing the most complete mapping of business applications to infrastructure for total IT transparency

Richard Muirhead, Chairman and CEO of Tideway, added: “Tideway Foundation 6.3 is a result of our commitment to customers and strategic partnerships.  We’ve now made it even easier to find an edition that is packaged and priced to match your requirements. It’s now quicker and easier to deploy application dependency mapping, gain control over the critical change process and align IT more effectively with the business.”
