Industry experts share techniques to grow successful Agile projects into programs

BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 16

Who: Hubert Smits brings more than 20 years of software project management and IT expertise to Rally, specializing in Agile software development approaches. He has helped hundreds of software team members successfully transition dozens of projects to Agile and Lean practices. In so doing, he's also coached the executive management teams that must deliver business value through their team's Agile adoption. Smits specializes in large-scale implementations and has worked with teams throughout the world. Prior to joining Rally, he served as a senior project manager for companies in Europe. Smits is a Certified Scrum Trainer and a frequent speaker at industry events. He authored and co-authored whitepapers on subjects related to large scale implementations of Agile Methods.


Tamara Sulaiman is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Team Lead, PMP and at SolutionsIQ. Sulaiman brings over 15 years of experience in business management and software development to a spectrum of industries. Since 2003 she has assisted teams in transitioning to Agile methods. As a Team Leader, Scrum Trainer, and Project Manager, she is focused on providing value to key stakeholders and customers through effective delivery of software. As an educator and coach she brings her wide ranging professional expertise to training and mentoring teams new to Agile and the Scrum framework. She is co-originator of the AgileEVM materials and processes that integrate the traditional project management practice of Earned Value Management with the Scrum framework.

Agile Program Management with Scrum -- Moving up the Agile Maturity Scale

 

In this two day course participants will learn practices to help grow Agile teams into successful Agile programs; enabling participants to take on more complex challenges while staying true to the Agile values and practices used in Agile projects.

The course is appropriate for software professionals who want to champion and accelerate the shift towards Agile and Lean Development at the program and portfolio level. Agile Program Management with Scrum is ideal for seasoned ScrumMasters who are managing a large project (multi-team, multi-month) or program managers who are managing a portfolio of projects. Suggested minimum of 6 months experience in Agile software development practices, Certified ScrumMaster training, or comparable knowledge obtained through an implementation process of Agile practices. This two day, course is taught by Certified Scrum Trainers but is not a certification course.
