New modernization suite with over 100 enhancements launched to help

Combination to yield more powerful Performance Management Solutions
and immediate return on current investments for both customers and
shareholders
WESTFORD, Mass.--NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), an industry pacesetter for
advanced network and service assurance solutions, today announced that
it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Network General
Corporation, in a combined cash, stock, and debt transaction currently
valued at approximately $205 million. The acquisition, subject to
customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, is expected to be
completed by early November. Network General employees will become
NetScout employees, and the newly combined entity will be headquartered
in Westford, Massachusetts.

Boulder, Colorado-based Rally Software has tied into Salesforce.com, an online provider of customer relationship management software. Rally said today that its Agile software lifecycle management products have been tied into Salesforce.com's AppExchange platform, allowing companies to integrate its application lifecycle management products with Salesforce.com's popular CRM products. Rally said that the integration adds such features as conecting customer-reporting defects and feature requests from Salesforce into its software, Web 2.0 tools to publish information to Salesforce.com, and ability to pull customer requests and other information directly from Salesforce.com into its tools. Rally said the new integration is available today.

Naresh Jain, senior developer, and Jeff Patton, senior user-centered
