Catalyst Systems Corporation has just announced the general
availability of a new version of Openmake, the advanced solution for
centralizing and controlling
application lifecycle processes from source control management through
build,
testing and deployment without the need for writing highly customized
ALM
(application lifecycle management) scripts.
Listen to a podcast discussion with Tracy Ragan and Patrick Egan about this release.
Openmake 6.4.1.1 introduces a wide range of ALM adaptors,
simplifying the process of defining a standardized ALM workflow. Openmake ALM
adaptors allow organizations to define a standardized ALM process using a
variety of ALM tools supported by diverse ALM vendors.
According to Jim
Duggan, research vice president at Gartner "Software that easily bridges
diverse application lifecycle management tools will become increasingly
important as organizations strive to meet IT compliance requirements by
creating a repeatable development process."
Included in the latest release of Openmake is interoperability
with the Perforce Software Configuration Management solution as well as
deployment adaptors supporting CA's Software Delivery.
"The Perforce
integration with Openmake provides our customers with more options in build
management and ALM process workflow," said Nigel Chanter, chief operating
officer of Perforce Software. "Helping customers who are looking to
architect a clearly defined development process is a shared goal between
Perforce and Catalyst Systems Corporation."
Tracy Ragan, COO, Catalyst Systems states, "Openmake
6.4.1.1 represents a continuing evolution in interoperability between diverse
ALM tool offerings and automated build management. Openmake 6.4.1.1 provides
our end users with options for how they want to manage their ALM processes.
Openmake simplifies the effort of standardizing development streams, allowing
developers to choose their favorite ALM tools while incorporating a solid build
management process-all without the need for writing costly homegrown
scripts."
Openmake's leading re-usable ALM framework allows
developers to design re-usable ALM processes, minimizing the need for highly
customized ad hoc ALM scripts such as Ant/XML scripts, Make Scripts,
Check-in/Check-out scripts and deployment scripts. This re-use substantially
reduces development costs, improves quality and mitigates the risk associated
with manually-maintained, non re-usable ad hoc processes.
Openmake 6.4.1.1 adds Microsoft Visual Studio .Net
2005 to the list of supported development tools. Release 6.4.1.1 provides
Visual Studio .Net 2005 dependency mining and reporting, which are particularly
helpful for tracking and managing large .Net-based applications. Release
6.4.1.1 also provides added security features including LDAP support for
organizations standardizing their security policies.
Pricing & Availability
Openmake 6.4.1.1 is available immediately, with prices
starting at $50 USD for lifecycle automation-only seats to $350 USD for full
build automation seats.
