The Latest Version of Trigence AE 3.0 Further Liberates Applications
From Underlying Infrastructure
LinuxWorld San Francisco 2007
Booth #835
JERSEY CITY, N.J. & OTTAWA--Trigence, the leader in virtualization at the application level, today
announced a package of enhancements to optimize its application
virtualization software, Trigence AE 3.0, for Linux and Solaris. The
Trigence AE optimization package for Linux and Solaris includes
significant enhancements to streamline application configuration
management, reduce operational costs, maximize efficiencies, and drive
the move toward true enterprise virtualization and utility computing. To
learn more, visit Trigence executives this week at LinuxWorld Booth #835.
According to a recent report by The 451 Group, application
virtualization will be one of the next technologies to permeate the
enterprise IT market, leading to greater efficiency and power savings1,
and IDC predicts that the virtualization services market will grow from
$5.5 billion in 2006 to $11.7 billion in 20112.
Through Trigence encapsulation, Trigence AE separates the application
and its dependencies from the operating systems to improve application
manageability and eliminate the need for application re-configuration or
re-installation to move, migrate or update applications. New key
features include:
Streamlined capsule management
-
Radical reduction in the time required to use a capsule on Linux or
Solaris
-
Rapid capsule property changes and expanded capsule cloning
-
Ability to access capsules expanded on a network share (iSCSI, SAN,
NAS and NFS)
-
Extension of encapsulated processes to multiple network devices
Expanded user capabilities
-
Increased support and faster access for fail-over situations and
capacity-on-demand
-
Significantly expanded multi-user capabilities for capsules to further
extend encapsulated applications
Enhanced support and monitoring
-
Improved CPU performance monitoring for resource management
-
Advanced support for applications written with tight memory control
and/or memory-constrained applications
“Application virtualization is forcing the
industry to rethink how it perceives applications and the limitations
tied to their usage. If you think application virtualization is solely
VmWare or a similar solution, think again,”
said John Hamilton, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer, Trigence. “Today businesses want the
ability to simply, quickly and effectively use, manage and move
applications where, when and how needed. Not only to save time,
resources and money, but also to enable the business to further its
goals. The optimization package for Trigence AE takes the industry one
step closer to realizing the power of the virtual enterprise.”
The optimization package will be released for general availability at
the end of Q3 2007. To learn more about Trigence AE 3.0 please visit: http://www.trigence.com/products/index.html.
About Trigence
Trigence provides a new approach to IT management by encapsulating and
liberating applications from underlying OS and server-level
dependencies. The application virtualization technology not only
simplifies common tasks like migration and re-configuration, but also
harnesses heterogeneous applications and brings them together into a
structured, standardized environment for dramatically improved
manageability. Organizations in the financial services, government and
technology sectors use Trigence solutions to significantly reduce the
cost and complexity of IT management across the enterprise.
Privately-held Trigence is based in Jersey City, NJ and Ottawa, ON. For
