OUTSOURCING LEADER LUXOFT CONTRIBUTES NEW TEST AUTOMATION TOOL TO
OPEN SOURCE
FITpro for Eclipse Plug-in To Be Unveiled at Agile 2007 and Luxoft to
Serve as Show Platinum Sponsor & Speaker
At next week's Agile 2007 conference, Luxoft, Russia’s
largest provider of high-end IT outsourcing services and product
development to clients such as Deutsche Bank, IBM, UBS, T-Mobile and
Ping Identity, will introduce a new Open Source test automation tool
called FITpro and also play a key thought leader and sponsorship role at
the event. The Agile 2007 conference will be held at the Washington DC
Renaissance Hotel August 13-17th.
Built from Luxoft’s rich experience in
successfully developing and testing software quality with its clients,
and designed to leverage the powerful Open Source automated testing
framework Fit, FITpro makes acceptance testing easier and more efficient
by providing the tools to create, manage and execute tests from within
the popular Eclipse development environment.
With FITpro users can:
-
Build requirements that double as tests and quickly create new tests
based on existing fixtures via a template tool.
-
Create and execute test suites and ordered groupings of tests.
-
Execute Fit tests and Fit test folders and suites directly within
Eclipse.
-
Link from Fit tests to fixtures providing traceability.
-
View result summaries in the Eclipse console after test execution
linking to familiar color-coded, tabular report formats.
The FITpro tool also helps improve communication and collaboration
across development and business teams with the ability to co-define
requirement terminology and test not only technical logic but also
business rule compliance. In addition, with FITpro business rules become
ready-to-use test specifications before a single line of code is
written. This makes development goals clear from the very beginning to
all members of the team.
These benefits make FITpro an ideal tool for the fast-paced, highly
collaborative Agile software development approach. Luxoft is also
currently developing a FITpro version for use with the .NET development
in Microsoft Visual Studio.
“The easier it is to interface with, organize
and maintain complex testing environments the more efficient and
quality-driven software development becomes,”
said Michael Vax, head of Luxoft’s rapidly
growing Vancouver, Canada office. “FITpro puts
automated testing right at the fingertips of developers through the
popular Java Eclipse environment and makes it a more accessible,
integrated and intuitive part of the whole development process.”
In addition to unveiling Luxoft’s FITpro for
Eclipse to the Open Source community at Agile 2007, Luxoft will also
serve as a Platinum level sponsor for the event. Vax will address best
practices for implementing Agile in distributed development environments.
With a dedicated Agile Excellence Center in Vancouver, Luxoft is a
pioneer in successfully leveraging this increasingly popular development
methodology in distributed environments. Luxoft’s
proven Agile methodology includes tools, processes and communication
methods that facilitate smooth and efficient round the clock Agile
development. Luxoft also sponsors Agile certification for employees, is
