New Mingle Release Further Demonstrates Company’s Commitment to
Agile Software Development
CHICAGO—October 30, 2007— ThoughtWorks, a leading global IT
consultancy, today announced the immediate availability of Mingle 1.1,
a significant upgrade to its ground-breaking project collaboration tool
for software development teams. The initial launch of Mingle met with
enthusiastic reception from over 4,000 software project teams
worldwide. Incorporating feedback from users of this first release,
Mingle 1.1 arrives within just three months, and enables project teams
to more effectively schedule, track, prioritize and collaborate on the
thousands of tasks they need to accomplish.
Developed by the company’s new
product division, ThoughtWorks Studios, Mingle 1.1 features important new
functionality including extensive filtering, burn-down charts, date properties
and support for printing story cards, built into Mingle’s much-acclaimed,
browser-based, AJAX-powered interface. Now, Mingle 1.1 can be used by all
project team members, not just the project managers.
“Mingle 1.1 further demonstrates our
fundamentally different approach to delivering software,” said Cyndi Mitchell,
managing director of ThoughtWorks Studios. “ThoughtWorks Studios’ products are
easy, even fun to use and we are releasing significant upgrades in short cycles
so that our customers benefit early and often from new features. Project
software is notorious for being hard-to-use and management-centric, but Mingle
has an elegantly simple and engaging user interface and offers all the
flexibility needed by developers, QAs, business analysts and project managers
to deliver high-quality software rapidly.”
In August, ThoughtWorks launched
RubyWorks, designed to accelerate the adoption of Ruby in the Enterprise. RubyWorks is ThoughtWorks’ third
product release for 2007, along with Mingle and CruiseControl Enterprise, a
continuous integration tool. To experience the new features of Mingle 1.1 for
